Pronunciation classes

Accents are beautiful; we all have them. In fact, in the United States, careful listeners can identify a speaker's region by his or her speech. At the same time, every language has a melody and rhythm, and English is no different. Learning that melody and rhythm can help with communication and understanding, a great benefit in school, on the job, and when forming friendships. At MATC Mequon Campus, we offer two levels of Pronunciation class. Learn about some tricky elements of English pronunciation in the infographic below. (Scroll down to see more.)

MATC Child Care

MATC offers quality, reliable care to children of MATC students. Child care is available for children ages six weeks through 12 years, from early morning through late afternoon.

The Child Care Centers offer a wide variety of learning experiences that encourage children's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development. Lunch and snacks are provided. At MATC Mequon Campus, the Child Care Center is located close to the ESL classrooms. For information, call 262-238-2456.

What's new on campus?

MATC's Mequon Campus is full of surprises! What does it offer? A partial list includes:

Skyn the Spa, a place where students can make appointments to get mini-facials, hand and foot treatments, hair removal, and more. Call 262-238-2222.
The North Campus Library, which holds approximately 16,000 items including books, magazines, journals, and audiovisual materials. Novels for ESL students can be checked out for free. Students may also check out laptop computers for on-campus use.
North Campus is home to a Landscape Horticulture Associate Degree Program. Students train to be arborists, horticulturists, landscape, designers and landscapers. A pleasant side benefit for other MATC students and instructors: periodic sales of well-cared-for plants, including Pointsettias and Easter Lilies.
